We could be a bit biassed, but we can’t think of a better place to enjoy an outdoor bite than the South Bank? The views of London’s iconic landmarks never get old and as the Summer rolls round you could be soaking up the sun by the capital’s famous riverside.
From boozy bottomless brunches, to after work drinks or a quiet family meal out on the terrace, the South Bank has it all! Here’s just some of our faves…
Escape to Limin Beach Club, located just off the beaten track, away from the hustle and bustle of the South Bank strip. Sit back on a deckchair, rub your toes between the sand, sip on a rum punch and enjoy one of the best authentic Caribbean dining experiences London has to offer. Good news if you’re vegan, as over half the menu is plant-based too.
Limin Beach is independently owned with a key focus on community and inclusion, which creates a welcoming atmosphere that every guest at the Beach Club will experience.
Who wouldn’t want to visit London’s biggest beer garden? Nestled between the London Eye and Waterloo Bridge, Between Bridges is a pop-up, only here for the Summer months. They have a varied line-up of entertainment, stunning street food, craft beer and cocktails, weekly drag brunches, mini golf and much more. Open Wednesday to Sunday all Summer, and get this, it’s FREE entry!
The perfect place to socialise away a weekend or make the most of a sunny evening after work.
The perfect spot to sip your morning coffee, drink a beer with lunch or socialise over evening cocktails with friends. This 10ft converted shipping container is covered with the street artist Shuby’s colourful artwork. You can find this unique bar just under Hungerford Bridge, across from Royal Festival Hall.
One for the families. The ever popular chain giraffe is situated in a prime location on the lower level of Royal Festival Hall and on riverside Queen’s Walk, boasting a huge heated outdoor terrace looking onto the river.
Offering breakfast straight through to dinner, it’s all about socialising and having food you’ll want to go back for, with a relaxed informal and friendly vibe making it the perfect location for any occasion. And, don’t worry too much about booking as it is Giraffe’s largest restaurant and caters very well for walk-ins.
Walk-ins only, which is what makes BFI the perfect spot for a spontaneous after work pint or a quick bite to eat. It’s a great place to sit and watch the world go by too, situated under Waterloo Bridge, a Parisian vibe feels present as you can gaze at the Bank Book Market opposite. Or, if a boozy night on the South Bank has left you feeling peckish you can swing by for a pizza, served until 10:30pm.
Also, make sure you don’t miss the secret balcony bar that gives panoramic views up and down the river!
If you’re hungry for more, stay tuned to find out more about the biggest Brewdog in the world, which just so happens to be opening at The Sidings this summer…
