17 June 2022

Have you been getting curiouser and curiouser about our social media posts? Has it sent you down a dreaded rabbit hole? Well don’t worry, we can finally tell you what’s going on and it’s going to leave you grinning like a Cheshire cat! (Too much?)

A groundbreaking immersive theatre experience, restaurant and bar is coming to The Sidings, where you will be able to dine, drink and discover all things Alice in Wonderland!

LABYRINTH is the newly formed immersive company from the Creative Directors of Les Enfants Terribles, Oliver Lansley and James Seager, and the internationally renowned producers Hunter Arnold and Gavin Kalin.

The multi-sensory adventure will allow visitors to engage with their favourite characters from Alice in Wonderland up close during an interactive 90-minute theatrical show.

Excited? But wait, there’s more! The experiential space will also include a Wonderland-themed restaurant, The Rosarium, and bar Underland, where the curious cocktails and foodie delights will invoke the spirit of Alice’s adventure, making the visitor experience complete!

ALICE’S ADVENTURES UNDERGROUND

Not heard of Alice’s Adventures Underground? Where have you been?!

Here’s what you need to know…

It has been seen by over 300,000 people worldwide and was originally conceived as a celebration of the 150th anniversary of Lewis Carroll’s classic novel.

It premiered in 2015 at The Vaults and was nominated for the 2016 Olivier Award for Best Entertainment and Family show before returning in 2017 and then transferring to Shanghai for two years in 2018. It is written by Oliver Lansley and Anthony Spargo, directed by Oliver Lansley and James Seager with sets and puppetry by Sam Wyer.

Have your calendar at the ready! Tickets will go on general sale to the public on Friday 29 July 2022, with priority booking beginning on 28 July 2022.

THE ROSARIUM

The Rosarium restaurant will open its doors in September 2022 and promises to be a gastronomic adventure by renowned Chef Harvey Ayliffe, who has developed a Victorian-inspired menu with a modern twist exclusively using British produce.

Keeping with the immersive theme, there will be performative and sense-heightening experiences, including an Alice themed Afternoon Tea and a delectable cocktail menu. The restaurant will also have an indoor terrace and Private Dining Room.

Executive Chef Ayliffe said: “Having worked at some of London’s best restaurants, I wanted my next adventure to capture some of the fun, skill and playfulness of all that London has to offer, taking from its past as well as its fiction, for something truly magical.”

The interior design of the restaurant by Faber will follow suit by taking inspiration from the architecture of the quintessential English gardens of Lewis Carroll’s era, where opulence with a touch of the surreal blends to magical effect.

UNDERLAND

The Underland bar is set to open in November this year and will serve bespoke ‘Alice’s Adventures Underground’ cocktails alongside classic wines, cocktails and beers. It will serve as both a pre-show bar for theatre guests or walk-ins and bookings for those who enjoy an experience with their Aperol Spritz!

Underland will open alongside the launch of Alice. The show opens on Tuesday 15th November, running until 30th April 2023, with tickets on sale from 29th July.
