Landscape Art Exhibition

14 May 2024

In our continued commitment to bringing some of the best art exhibitions in the area to The Sidings, we are delighted to announce that the highly successful ‘Landscape Photographer of the Year’ is coming to The Sidings for the next 3 weeks.

The exhibition has been in some of the biggest stations around the country and having been a big hit on the main concourse at Waterloo Station, we are delighted to continue its run in South Bank by having the exhibition displayed inside The Sidings.

Landscape Photographer of the Year is one of the most important art competitions in the UK, celebrating the beauty of our British landscape and will showcase some incredibly talented photographers.

The competition has a prize fund worth over £20,000 and comes with a book to show the best entries, alongside the touring exhibition that we are now privileged to be a part of.

There are many different categories that you can see when you come along to see us. Traditional ones include Classic View, Black & White and Cityscapes. There is also the Young Photographer of the Year for those under 18.

Several new categories have been added, including Change in the Landscape, Bird’s Eye View and Intimate View, but the one we are most excited to see is My Railway Journey, which just happens to be sponsored by our great friends at Network Rail.

The railways of this country provide amazing backdrops for the landscape around them. With its iconic Victorian bridges, viaducts and engineering architecture, there is so much to treasure in these photographs. The winner even gets to go behind the scenes at London King’s Cross to take photos in areas previously not accessible to the public.

Come on down, grab a drink, have a bite to eat and enjoy one of the most exciting art exhibitions on the South Bank this summer!
