HOW TO GET HERE
Marc Craig, has spent years building his reputation in Leake Street through large-scale street art murals, and recently had the privilege of becoming the Leake Street’s artist in residence. This opportunity allowed him to expand his passion for supporting fellow artists, culminating in the creation of the “On The Side” exhibition here at The Sidings. He aims to engage the public in collaborative and interactive ways, alongside the participating artists who will bring their creativity to life through live art sessions.
ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
In 2019, the worlds of street art and art appreciation collided when street artist Marc Craig crossed paths with the passionate art collector, Richard Nyman! A friendship sparked by their shared love for art, that is now illuminating the art world and coming together here at The Sidings!
Prepare yourself for a grand artistic endeavor…Marc and Richard are curating an exhibition like no other, featuring the works of 43 amazing artists, both established and emerging, coming from diverse backgrounds and presenting a wide array of artistic mediums.
The concept behind this unique exhibition is elegantly simple: each of the 43 artists have been tasked with creating a 1m x 1m original artwork to be showcased. A limited edition run of 43 prints derived from each original piece will then be made available for art enthusiasts to collect. This collaboration approach is celebrating art but also makes it accessible to a wider audience, here at the “On The Side” exhibition at The Sidings.
Martin Grix is renowned for his decorated graffiti rail carriages displayed at BEYOND THE STREETS with SAATCHI GALLERY earlier this year. There will be an impressive train set display in the main room, where Hornby buildings and trains will undergo a captivating Leake Street Graffiti Street Art makeover.

On The Side has partnered with arts charity APPLES AND SNAKES to commission six resident poets. These talented poets will use the exhibtion space as their creative studio and writing space, taking inspiration from their surroundings.
