The UK’s treasured chain, Wetherspoon is now open at The Sidings.
JD Wetherspoon have spent £2.8 million on development, generating a total of seventy new jobs.
The Lion & the Unicorn pub will be open from 6.30am until 12 midnight Monday to Thursday, from 6.30am until 1am on Friday and Saturday and from 7.30am until 12 midnight on Sunday.
Food will be served throughout the day, from opening until 11pm every day.
The new pub will specialise in real ales and traditional ciders, as well as craft and world beers, serving a wide range of different draught ales, as well as bottled beers, including those from local and regional brewers.
It will be open for family dining, with children, accompanied by an adult, welcome in the pub up until 9pm, throughout the week.
The pub will be wheelchair accessible and have a specially adapted toilet for people with disabilities.
The pub will be named, The Lion and the Unicorn, a reference to the Festival of Britain which was held very close to The Sidings in 1951. The festival was hosted in the heart of the South Bank back in 1951 and showcased Britain’s arts, architecture, science and technology.
You will be able to find ‘Spoons’ on the 1st floor – so it’s pints all round at Waterloo’s Social Side!
