We know it seems to arrive earlier every year but we are less than 100 days away from Christmas and with the South Bank being such a great location for groups getting together, it is always incredibly popular for Christmas parties, so you need to plan ahead to book the best venues.
As we are all about ensuring people have the best nights out, we wanted to highlight some of the top venues across the South Bank for that office party or just getting a group of mates together for a festive night out.
I know everyone defaults to pubs and restaurants when they think about party venues (and we have plenty of those coming up!) but we wanted to start with something completely different – so let’s have a party with sharks! We bet you were not expecting that.
The London Aquarium provides the opportunity to host a Christmas party inside the venue where your guests arrive directly into the Pacific Wreck which surrounds the huge shark tank – that’s how you make a first impression!
To keep the theme of wonderment, your guests will access the Atlantic Cove via the stunning Ocean Tunnel. And just to finish the magical feel, why not have a DJ playing from the Rockpool while the guests dance the night away.

Excuse the pun, but we have stolen that line from our very own classic Christmas party venue, one of the largest BrewDog’s in the world. We are slightly biased, but we genuinely believe they know how to put on a party with style.
They throw Christmas parties that include all the classics, lovely festive food, winter cocktails and the chance for everyone to belt out Mariah Carey at the top of their voices!
Choose from the ultimate Christmas buffet, a three-course meal or their intriguing festive-themed pizzas, you have the chance to combine them with multiple drinks packages to create the perfect Christmas office party on the South Bank, right here at The Sidings.
Another quirky venue for a Christmas Party on the South Bank is the Curling Club, where you’ll find the best apres-ski vibe in London.
When you get to combine alpine food, cool winter-themed cocktails and music, with a spot of competition on the curling rink, you get a night out that will have something for everyone in the office.
They have a couple of packages to choose from with some suitably silly puns like The Curls of Wisdom, but they all generally include time on the ice, food, drinks and a dedicated area – pretty much what you’d expect but with the added fun of throwing a large object down the ice to beat a work mate!

Hire your own private room, which can host between 4-30 people with over 11,000 songs to choose from, but most importantly, a special Christmas playlist that will get everyone in your party in the festive mood. And remember, each room has their iconic ‘Thirsty’ button so room service really is at the touch of a button.
This idea won’t take up your whole evening but if you are looking for a unique experience to kick off the night before heading somewhere else for food and drink, then a private pod on the London Eye could be an exciting start to any Christmas Party.
Your party will arrive at the dock and board one of the world-famous pods, which you will have exclusive use of, as well as be served canopies and drinks during your 30-minute ride.
The views are unmatched and with it being an evening at Christmas, the light shows are worth the trip alone!
If you are looking for something a little less formal, maybe meeting up with friends after work and looking to make it a little more festive, then we suggest the new Wetherspoons that’s open now in The Sidings.
The Lion & the Unicorn pub has quickly become a favourite, with its excellent selection of beers, traditional ciders, friendly atmosphere and great value food. And they are stepping it up for the Christmas period.
You can expect the same high quality selection of drinks but they are combining that with a festive menu including a traditional Turkey dinner, 3 special burgers (including a Chicken & Stuffing one!), and like everyone else this year, some lovely looking festive pizzas, one that comes with Chicken, stuffing, bacon and brie, hhhmmmm.
